Shinrin-yoku is a term that means “taking in the forest atmosphere” or “forest bathing.” It was developed in Japan during the 1980’s and has become a cornerstone of preventive health care and healing in Japanese medicine. Learn more about it HERE.

Forest Therapy combines leisurely walks on gentle paths under forest canopy with guided activities to help you open your senses, hone your intuition and experience the forest as you never have before. In the time span of a few hours, we go deep into a direct experience with nature, quietude and receptivity to the present moment.
Includes a morning spa immersion with Cedar Enzyme Footbath, Hammock Sound Therapy and a Revitalizing 75-minute Massage or Facial. Organic Box Lunch followed by afternoon Forest Bathing experience.

Michael Stusser brings 40 years of meditation practice and a lifetime of wilderness experience to his forest bathing guiding. He is a certified forest-bathing guide with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs (ANFT). He led a delegation to connect with the origins of the movement in Japan in the fall of 2017 with the organization’s founder Amos Clifford.

Celebrate the joys of sandcastle building and kite flying at the beach with the entire family. Amateurs and experts are welcome. Bring your own kite or purchase one from local vendors. Longtime sand sculptors will be on hand to work on elaborate creations to build the sandcastle you have always imagined.

Meet at the boardwalk. Bring your own kites and sandcastle building tools or use our sand toys, and dress for a day at the beach.

June 3, 2018 Tour d’ Friends

Sebastopol Bike Center Tour d’Friends 4th Anniversary Ride and Party! This year we will gather on June 3rd to do 3 different levels of rides followed by a delicious meal, cake, beer and wine.


If you have been contemplating trying other bikes, just to see how they feel, this would be a great opportunity. We’ll cut every rental fee in half this day only for our upright cruisers, hybrids and our high-performance road bikes. If you ride the bike and fall in love, you can take the rental cost off the purchase. A casual jaunt down the West County Bike Trail to Forestville and back. 16.4 miles.

This is a ride familiar to many who ride from Sebastopol. We’ll go up to Healdsburg beginning with the West County Trail to Covey, Wholer and Westside roads. Return will include Vine Hill for a little climb. 42 miles. 


This is slightly less than 50 miles but it has over 4800 ft of climbing. Including Barnett Valley, Bohemian Hwy up to Occidental, Bittner, Coleman Valley, a little coast riding, Bayhill, Graton…49.2 miles 4815 ft of climbing

June 11-15, 18-22 Safari Summer Kid’s Camp!

At Sonoma County’s wildest science discovery day camp, each session provides five full days of wildlife learning and adventure! With a ratio of only 15 campers per counselor and all the excitement of the Safari West Wildlife Preserve, this camp is a sure-fire way to fill your young learner’s sunny summer days. On top of a week’s worth of activities, each camper will receive a souvenir t-shirt, a daily snack, take home crafts, and a safari experience at the end of the week!
Zooper Heroes – June 11-15

To infinity and beyond! Join us as we explore the super heroes from the movies and learn about their super powers, which are based on real-life animals! Campers will spend the week creating an up-cycled super suit and compete in the Wildlife Olympics!
Excavation Unknown – June 18-22

Grab your pick and shovel, we’re going on a dig! Join us as we explore the worlds of paleontology and archaeology through excavation and scientific experimentation. Campers will spend the week learning about animal anatomy and physiology as well as the scientific methods used by actual scientists.
